Police officers searched for suspects in a bank robbery this morning on Dorchester Road in North Charleston.
North Charleston Police Department spokesman Spencer Pryor said the Sun Trust Bank at 8610 Dorchester Road, which is near Coosaw Creek Boulevard, was robbed about 10:30 a.m.
A man with a pistol entered the bank and demanded money from a teller, Pryor said. The teller complied with the gunman’s demands and he fled the bank with an unknown amount of money, Pryor said.
The gunman was seen getting into an older model green Honda driven by a second man, Pryor said. The vehicle was last seen on Patriot Boulevard headed toward Palmetto Commerce Parkway, he said.
On police radio channels, officers talked about looking for a green Honda Accord in connection with the robbery. One of the two suspects, they said, was wearing a “black shiny wig.”
No one was injured in the robbery, Pryor said. Anyone with information can call the North Charleston Police Department at 554-5700.
