A 31-year-old St. Stephens man died early Saturday morning after his Lincoln sport utility vehicle ran off Mendel Rivers Road.

Raclaydran Jenkins was driving north along the country road around 1 a.m. when his SUV crossed the southbound lane and hit a fire hydrant, telephone box and a stop sign before landing overturned in a field, according to the Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.
