Two charged in meth lab bust in Colleton County
Colleton County Sheriff’s deputies charged two people in connection with a meth lab bust on Thursday.
Deputies received a tip that wanted man Samuel Lane Campbell, 28, of Round O, was hiding out at a home on Cannon Road, Chief Deputy Ted Stanfield said.
Deputies waited for Campbell to arrive at the home about 12:50 p.m. on Thursday and placed him under arrest, Stanfield said. Deputies found cocaine, methamphetamine and hypodermic needles in Campbell’s vehicle, he said.
Passenger Megan De Los Santos, 29, of Ridgeland was also taken into custody, Stanfield said.
Deputies searched the home and found a “one-pot” lab containing necessary ingredients to make meth, more hypodermic needles, digital scales, meth waste and an undetermined amount of methamphetamine, Stanfield said.
Drug Enforcement Administration agents were notified of the bust and the lab was dismantled, Stanfield said.
Both Campbell and De Los Santos were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, disposal of meth waste and possession of cocaine, Stanfield said.
They were held at the Colleton County jail, he said.
