The South Carolina Stingrays signed Ferris State forward Eric Alexander.

Alexander, 23, completed his senior season at Ferris State (Big Rapids, Mich.) with five goals and seven assists in 31 games.

In the summer of 2011, Alexander attended the Washington Capitals Rookie Development Camp in Arlington, Va. Before college, the 6-2, 206-pound forward skated three seasons of junior hockey in the USHL with the Lincoln Stars and Chicago Steel adding 71 points (40 goals, 31 assists) in 109 games.

The Stingrays have clinched a spot in the ECHL’s Kelly Cup playoffs for a league-record 19th time.
