South Carolina pitcher Colby Holmes threw seven strong innings and LB Dantzler and Joey Pankake each ahd two hits to lead the Gamecocks past College of Charleston, 3-1, Tuesday night before a sellout crowd at Patriot’s Point.
Holmes (2-2) went 7.1 innings, giving up just one earned run, four hits and striking out eight batters to pick up his second win of the season.
The 14th-ranked Gamecocks (19-6) had eight hits. The College of Charleston fell to 13-11.
