Charleston County employees will know by the end of the evening if they will get a one-time $1,000 check to offset the current tough economy.
County Council’s Finance Committee approved the plan last week as part of a mid-year budget review with a 7-2 vote. The full council will vote on it tonight.
If approved, checks could go out to most employees as early as the end of the week.
The plan carries and estimated price tag of $2.5 million.
