Former GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum announced today he will back Curtis Bostic in his runoff, while former Gov. Mark Sanford, Bostic’s opponent, picked up another endorsement from a former 1st congressional district candidate.

Santorum, a former U.S. Senator who campaigned for president extensively in South Carolina, said his Patriot Voices PAC would back Bostic, and Santorum is expected to campaign with Bostic Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Sanford picked up the endorsement of Jonathan Hoffman, a former White House official under President George Bush.

Hoffman is the sixth former 1st district Republican candidate to throw his support to Sanford since last week’s primary. Only one of the 14 candidates, former state Sen. John Kuhn has endorsed Bostic.
