The Center for Women is holding a program and reception next month to honor Charleston Mayor Joe Riley for his 38 years of service to the city.
The event is scheduled for 6-8:30 p.m. April 17 at the Dock Street Theatre. The program will recognize Riley for his work in the arts, urban planning, social justice, community development, tourism and other areas, organizers said.
Scheduled speakers include S.C. Supreme Chief Justice Jean Toal; business executives Martha Rivers Ingram, Anita Zucker and Linda Ketner; Charleston County schools superintendent Nancy McGinley and former school board chairwoman Liz Alston; Charleston Fire Chief Karen Brack; and former state Rep. Lucille Whipper.
