Austin Langdale, a high school senior from Townville who has signed to play for Clemson, posted a 2-under-par 69 Friday for a 36-hole score of 135 and holds a two-shot lead over Scott Harvey of Greensboro, N.C., midway through the 65th annual Azalea Invitational golf tournament at the Country Club of Charleston.
Will Long of Gastonia, N.C., is third at 138. Jim Liu of Smithtown, N.Y., the country’s top-ranked junior and last year’s Azalea runner-up, shot a blistering 63 to move into a tie for fourth, four shots behind Langdale.
The tournament continues through Saturday.
