Local summit to focus on improving supply chain in South Carolina

College of Charleston School of Business is hosting a supply chain summit today.

South Carolina Supply Chain Summit is an all-day event that includes speeches and panel discussions by academia and officials for companies such as BMW, Boeing, Michelin and Bulldog Hiway Express.

The summit, held in the Beatty Center in Charleston, is designed to help develop a strategy to meet business needs in logistics and supply chain management in South Carolina.

Keynote speaker will be state Commerce Secretary Bobby Hitt. Others scheduled to speak include Jim Newsome, chief executive of the State Ports Authority, and Ray Healy of Boeing South Carolina.
