Police need help in identifying suspect in moped theft
Charleston Police need the public’s help in identifying two people pictured on a surveillance video over the weekend. Police are investigating a moped theft from the parking lot of the Wal-Mart on Folly Road.
The photo shows the man police believe is the suspect in this case as well as a woman, who is not a suspect, but who they’d also like to speak to.
On Sunday, a man reported his moped was stolen from the store’s lot. The surveillance video showed a white man, approximately 40 years old, walking toward the parking lot where the moped was parked and leaving the lot driving the moped, according to an incident report.
Police ask anyone with information on the identity of the possible witness or the suspect to contact Charleston Police at (843)577-7434.
