The Citadel and College of Charleston baseball teams are both in need of a rebound win as the rivals square off tonight at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant.

Game time is 6 p.m.

The Bulldogs and Cougars are both coming off disappointing losses on Tuesday night. The Citadel gave up three home runs in a 9-5 loss to No. 5 South Carolina at Riley Park, while College of Charleston surrendered seven runs in the first two innings of a 9-4 loss to Connecticut.

“You’ve got to have a short memory,” said Citadel coach Fred Jordan, whose club also plays a three-game series against rival Charleston Southern this weekend. “But our guys are pretty resilient, and I think they will show up and play a better game.”

At 14-8, The Citadel has won nine of its last 12 games after snapping a three-game skid. The 11-9 Cougars have lost two straight and three of their last four after wining seven of nine.

The Citadel will go with freshman right-hander Austin Livingston (2-0, 5.91 earned-run average) on the mound. Cougars coach Monte Lee has not announced a starting pitcher.

This game will not count in Southern Conference standings. The Citadel will host C of C in a three-game SoCon series May 10-12 at Riley Park.
