A pair of former Lowcountry high school baseball players who were youth league teammates are off to great starts in the Southern Conference.
Georgia Southern outfielder Robbie Dodds, a Wando High School graduate, is batting .400 with 20 hits in 50 at-bats for the Eagles.
Dodds has two home runs.
Furman third baseman/pitcher Alex Abrams, a Bishop England High School graduate, is batting .388 (26 for 67) with two home runs.
Abrams also is 2-0 as a Paladins relief pitcher.
