Clemson athletics introduces online auction
CLEMSON — Want to own part of the Clemson athletic department? Now you can.
Clemson unveiled a new eBay-style, online auction on its Web site, ClemsonTigers.com, on Monday.
The first items up for bid are wall hangings of Tigers star athletes, facilities, and memorable moments in Clemson sports history.
A four-by-six foot poster of Memorial Stadium had the highest bid as of Monday morning at $100.50.
Athletic departments are in a constant search for new revenue streams and perhaps the auction can be a lucrative source for Clemson.
