Honda will recall 182,800 vehicles, including its Pilot sport-utility vehicles and its Acura MDX SUVs and Acura RL sedans, to fix the vehicle stability control system, which could unexpectedly trigger the brakes.
The recall includes 101,000 Pilots, 60,000 MDXs and 21,000 RLs from the 2005 model year and about 800 MDXs from the 2006 model year. Honda said it has received complaints about malfunctions in the stability assist system in those models.
Owners will be sent letters with details about how to schedule the repair in mid-April.
About 95,000 Water Balz (round-shape), Growing Skulls (skull-shape), H2O Orbs “Despicable Me” (round-shape) and Fabulous Flowers (flower-shape). These marble-size toys absorb water and grow up to 400 times their original size.
They were sold in packages of six in green, yellow, red, blue and black. The packaging includes the word “Dunecraft,” (the name of the toy and model number. They are made in China and the U.S., and imported by Dunecraft Inc. of Cleveland.
Water Balz and Growing Skulls were sold at Bed Bath & Beyond, Five Below, Hobby Lobby, Lakeshore Learning Materials, Microcenter, Urban Outfitters Direct, Wegmans and other stores nationwide, and online from September 2010 through November 2012.
When the toy is ingested, it expands inside the body and causes a blockage in the small intestine, resulting in severe discomfort, vomiting and dehydration, and can be life-threatening.
