SULLIVAN’S ISLAND — Fort Moultrie is about to get some of its pop back. Two restored 18-pounder cannons in the field in front of the fort will be dedicated Monday after restoration and replacement work.
The two Revolutionary War-era reproductions needed repair to the carriages and tubes after years of deterioration. The work has taken eight months.
The cannons will be dedicated in a ceremony at 2 p.m. open to the public. It is free. For more information, visit the website or call 843-883-3123.
