General Electric CEO to speak at Charleston chamber event

The head of one America’s best-known businesses is headlining the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce annual economic outlook today.

General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt will give the keynote address at the Charleston Area Convention Center this afternoon.

The event also features economic experts who will share their predictions about the region’s economy this year.

Panelists include: Rebecca Ufkes, owner of UEC Electronics; Rebecca Guthrie, director of operations at BoomTown, Patrick Bryant, founder of Go To Team; and Bryan Derreberry, CEO of Charleston Metro Chamber.

The forecast will be given by Mary Graham, senior vice president for business advocacy at the chamber and head of the group’s Center for Business Research.

The event runs from noon to 2 p.m.
