Hanahan police are searching for a 29-year-old man who they said escaped after leading officers on a chase on Monday.
Police responded to a home on Old Point Road shortly before 5 p.m. in response to a domestic dispute, Lt. Michael Fowler said.
Barry Jerod Stanley, who either lives at that home or on Simons Street in Charleston, fled the scene in a dark-blue Ford Crown Victoria and refused to stop for police, Fowler said.
Stanley tossed cocaine out a window and hit a minivan as he fled, police said. He forced an officer to drive into a yard in a nearby neighborhood to avoid getting hit, Fowler said.
Stanley got on Interstate 26 at Remount Road and headed toward Charleston, police said.
He stopped on Maple Street, got out of the vehicle and evaded officers by running between some houses, according to witnesses.
Anyone with information on Stanley’s whereabouts can call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
