Bail has been set for a man accused of driving drunk and causing a fatal wreck that left one woman dead and endangered two children.
Johnathan Michael Greene, 30, of Russelldale Avenue in North Charleston, is charged with felony DUI involving death, felony DUI involving great bodily injury, and two counts of child endangerment.
Greene is being held at the Charleston County jail pending a near $95,000 bail set on Sunday, court records show.
The charges against Green are in connection with a fatal wreck that happened about 9:15 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 26, the S.C. Highway Patrol said.
Greene was driving east on the interstate when he ran off the road near the Highway 78 interchange in North Charleston, down an embankment and hit a tree, according to the Highway Patrol.
Front-seat passenger, Haley Branham, 29, was seriously injured in the wreck. She died about four hours later at Medical University Hospital, according the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
An infant and a 3-year-old child, both of whom were in the back seat, were also transported to MUSC.
Police did not identify the children and have not explained any relationship they may have to Greene or Branham
