Lane closures for the Bees Ferry Road widening project in West Ashley with occur from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday.

The closed lanes are necessary for asphalt work. Workers will be present to direct traffic.

The road work is dependent on weather. If the weather is poor this week, it will continue on the next weather-permitting night.

Drivers traveling through the project’s construction zone are asked to be aware of equipment and crews working in the area at all times. The public is also asked to notice traffic control signs, reductions in speed limit and message board information.

The goal of the project, which is expected to be completed in April of 2014, is to make improvements to the entire 4.5-mile length of Bees Ferry Road from U.S. 17 to S.C. Highway 61.
