Susan P. Gilliam has joined Jarrard Nowell & Russell LLC as a bookkeeper. Previously, she was assistant director at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Learning Center. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in teaching from the College of Charleston.

Automotive


Jeremy Jimenez has been named general manager of the newly opened Rick Hendrick Fiat of North Charleston. He has been with Hendrick Automotive Group for five years and will continue as general manager at Rick Hendrick Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram.

Banking


Ann Surrett has joined Wells Fargo Private Bank as regional director for South Carolina. She is based in Charleston and oversees all wealth management functions for the area and brokerage services through Wells Fargo Advisors LLC. Previously, she was a wealth adviser in Charleston and before that was a division president for U.S. Trust in Pennsylvania. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Carolina. She succeeds Tom Clymer, who retired.

Insurance


Melissa Stabene and Mary Snyder have joined State Farm agent Tony Pope’s new Mount Pleasant office as multiple lines representative. Stabene has been with the agency for five years. Snyder was with State Farm in St. George.

Law


F. Patricia Scarborough, an estate-planning and tax attorney with Evans Carter Kunes & Bennett PA, has been named a shareholder in the firm. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina and a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Mortgage


Melanie Scott, Brian Koury and Kathy Cowart have joined Bank of America Home Loans as mortgage loan officers.

Scott has 35 years of banking and mortgage lending experience. Previously, she was with SunTrust Bank, Regions Bank and Heritage Trust Federal Credit Union.

Cowart has been a mortgage loan officer for more than 15 years. She is based at the Summerville Oakbrook office.

Koury has been in sales and mortgage lending since 1993. Previously, he was with Georgia Mortgage and Greenpoint Financial. He has a bachelor’s degree from Miami University of Ohio.

Retail


AT&T Inc. has named Lauren Sarson manager at its Mount Pleasant retail location. She has three years of communications and sales experience.

Utility


Ben Fleming Jr., Laura G. Varn and Elizabeth “Babs” Warner have been promoted to officer level positions at Santee Cooper.

Fleming will become senior vice president of power delivery July 1 and succeed the retiring Terry Blackwell. In his new position, Fleming will oversee the utility’s planning and power supply, design engineering, transmission technical and transmission operations. Previously, he was manager of transmission operations. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina and a master’s degree from The Citadel.

Varn will become vice president of human resources management, succeeding the retiring Wm. Glen Brown. Varn will oversee safety and health, training and development, employee relations, diversity and the Wampee Conference Center. Previously, she was vice president of corporate communications. She has a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from Ohio University.

Warner was named vice president for legal services and corporate secretary effective Feb. 2. She oversees legal services, land rights acquisition and the office of the corporate secretary. Previously, she was associate general counsel over litigation and environmental affairs.

She has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of South Carolina and a law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
