Citadel’s Delaney aims for 4th straight SoCon wrestling title

The Citadel’s Odie Delaney is the Southern Conference wrestler of the year.

Citadel heavyweight Odie Delaney will aim for his fourth straight Southern Conference wrestling title at the league championships today at VMI in Lexington, Va.

Delaney, the SoCon wrestler of the year, could become the first Bulldog to win four league titles.

SoCon freshman of the year Ugi Khishignyam (141 pounds) and all-conference picks Matt Frisch (157) and Aaron Hansen (133) also will wrestle as top seeds in their respective divisions.

All four went undefeated in SoCon matches this season.

The SoCon champion at each of the 10 weight classes will advance to the NCAA championships, with extra bids at 125, 141 and 165 pounds.
