Harper to discuss cancer on ‘Doctors’

Actress Valerie Harper plans to discuss her brain cancer with some television doctors.

The daytime talk show “The Doctors” said Harper will appear Monday to talk with Travis Stork, Lisa Masterson and Andrew Ordon, as well as her own team of doctors.

The 1970s sitcom star has been diagnosed with a rare brain cancer and told she has as little as three months to live. She said her husband briefly withheld the diagnosis from her because it was so dire.

Harper, now 73, played Rhoda Morgenstern on television’s “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and its spinoff, “Rhoda.”

She will be given the full hour of Monday’s talk show, and will be surprised by former co-stars Ed Asner and Cloris Leachman.

Kelly Osbourne confirms seizure

Kelly Osbourne said she had a seizure and doctors are trying to figure out why.

The 28-year-old TV personality posted a photo on Twitter late Thursday of an IV in her tattooed left arm. She thanked her fans for their “beautiful well wishes.”

Osbourne was hospitalized Thursday after collapsing on the set of E! network’s “Fashion Police,” where she serves as a panelist alongside Joan Rivers, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos.

Osbourne is the daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and “The Talk” co-host Sharon Osbourne. She was profiled with her family on the MTV reality series “The Osbournes” and has appeared as a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Thiessen recalls huge numbers of ‘Bell’ fans

Tiffani Thiessen is probably best known for her role as Kelly Kapowski on “Saved by the Bell,” but the actress said she had no idea at that time how popular the teenage sitcom was.

“I mean, I was so young. I was 15 when I started that show,” Thiessen, now 39, said in an interview.

“I remember Mark-Paul (Gosselaar) and I touring the (United) States and going overseas. ... That was the first time that I realized what an impact that show had when 5,000, 6,000, 10,000 kids were showing up to these malls and these places where we would sit there for hours and do autograph signings and pictures.”

The show now airs in syndication and remains a part of the pop culture zeitgeist. Jimmy Fallon tried, unsuccessfully, to rally the cast for a reunion in 2009. (They did pose for a People magazine cover.) Justin Bieber wore a T-shirt with the likeness of Kelly Kapowski to the MuchMusic Awards in 2011.

Thiessen divides her time between Los Angeles, where she lives with her husband and daughter, and New York City, where she films the USA series “White Collar.”
