Coroner’s Office identifies driver in fatal Berkeley County wreck
S.C. Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal wreck in Berkeley County this morning.
The single-vehicle collision happened shortly after midnight on Matilda Circle, Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said. A two-door Honda ran off the road and overturned, he said.
The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the driver as Denvil Thompson, 26, of St. Stephen.
Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene, Coroner Bill Salisbury said. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt, Salisbury said.
The wreck remains under investigation, Collins said.
