The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed Conway National Bank in Pawleys Island this morning.

At about 10:30 a.m., a man entered the bank at 10608 Ocean Highway and demanded money from an employee, sheriff’s office public information officer Carrie Cuthbertson said.

The robber left through the front door with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot in a southern direction, Cuthbertson said. No one was injured during the incident.

Deputies established a perimeter and canvassed the area with the aid of a bloodhound team, but couldn’t find the robber.

The suspect is described as white, between 35 and 45 years old and about 5 feet 9 inches tall. He has short grey hair and glasses. The suspect was wearing a black baseball cap with “Police” on it, a black leather jacket and military style cargo pants.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect is asked to call the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 546-5101
