Charleston Southern tops Winthrop to make Big South semifinals

MYRTLE BEACH -- Mathiang Muo scored 15 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Charleston Southern to a 54-47 victory over Winthrop today in the Big South Conference basketball tournament.

The Bucs (18-11) advance to the Big South semifinals, where they will face the Longwood-VMI winner at noon on Saturday.

Arlon Harper added 11 points for CSU. Joab Jerome scored 15 for Winthrop (14-17).
