A Mount Pleasant man aimed a gun at the mother of his child and threatened to kill her over child support, police said.

Termaine Rivers, 33, of Snowden Road was charged with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature in connection with the incident. Magistrate Linda Lombard set his bail Wednesday at $50,000 and ordered him to stay away from the woman.

Charleston police were dispatched to a South Street apartment about 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

A woman told police that the father of her 3-year-old son pushed his way into her apartment and threatened her with a revolver.

Rivers yelled at the woman for asking that he pay child support, an incident report states. He pushed the woman on her bed and pulled a black revolver from his waistband, police said.

Rivers placed the revolver to the woman’s forehead, moved it down to her right cheek and into her mouth, the report states. He said he wasn’t going to give the woman any money and threatened to kill her, police said.

Rivers was being held at the Charleston County jail late Wednesday, jail records show.
