Charleston County Sheriff’s Office seeks help finding suspect in theft of ATVs in Ravenel

Charleston County Sheriff's Office Charleston County Sheriff's detectives are looking for Michael Bryan Chaplin, 27, whose last known address was on College Park Road in Summerville, on charges of grand larceny and second-offense burglary.

Charleston County Sheriff’s detectives are asking for help finding a man suspected of stealing ATVs and other items from a Ravenel hunt club.

The theft at the Dungannon Hunt Club at 4875 Savannah Highway was reported Nov. 14, 2012, according to the incident report. The lock on the gate had been cut and the gate left open. Two ATVs, a trail camera and a turkey fryer were missing.

A fingerprint found at the scene linked a suspect to the scene, Sheriff’s Maj. Jim Brady said.

Warrants for grand larceny and second-offense burglary were issued for Michael Bryan Chaplin, 27, whose last known address was on College Park Road in Summerville.

Chaplin is described as a white male, 5 feet inches 10 tall, weighing 150 to 165 pounds with a tattoo on his neck.
