Man charged after using stun gun on ex-girlfriend, police say
A man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home Monday and attacked her with a stun gun, police said.
Christian Robinson, 26, of Devereaux Avenue, was charged with first-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree assault and battery in connection with the incident, police said.
Charleston police were dispatched to an apartment on Camp Road about 3:30 a.m. concerning a dispute involving weapons.
A 19-year-old woman who lives at the apartment told police that she was sitting in her bedroom when Robinson banged on her window and yelled that he was going to kill her.
Robinson entered the apartment through an unlocked sliding glass door and the pair began pushing and shoving one another, an incident report stated.
Then, the woman told police, Robinson used a stun gun against her left shoulder.
A 22-year-old man who also was at the apartment beat Robinson on the back with the butt of an unloaded rifle and chased him out of the apartment, the report said.
Charleston County sheriff’s deputies who assisted in the case found Robinson at the front of the apartment complex, the report stated. Deputies also found a stun gun hidden in some bushes nearby, police said.
Robinson was held at the Charleston County jail Tuesday pending a total $100,000 bail, jail records show.
