Red Cross to break ground on new North Charleston facility today
The American Red Cross is scheduled to break ground today on its new North Charleston facility across from City Hall.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at 2424 City Hall Lane, a news release said.
Red Cross leaders, the city of North Charleston, the National Bank of South Carolina and real estate firm Meyer Kapp & Associates are expected to participate in the ceremony, according to the release.
The new facility is expected to open in December of this year.
The American Red Cross’ Carolina Lowcountry chapter provides food, shelter and support throughout Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties, the release said.
