MOUNT PLEASANT — College of Charleston outlasted South Alabama in another close game to take the series in the rubber game at Patriots Point.

The Cougars (6-5) held the Jaguars (10-2) to just two runs for the second game of the series, and freshman Alex Pastorius hit the go-ahead RBI in the fifth inning to give the Cougars the win.

Freshman starter Nathan Helvey (2-1) pitched his second quality start of the season, going six innings and allowing just two runs on five hits.
