Citadel baseball players Austin Pritcher and Tyler Griffin have earned the first Southern Conference monthly awards of the season.

Pritcher, a senior from James Island, was named pitcher of the month for February after not allowing an earned run in 13 innings in two starts.

For the season, Pritcher is 2-0 with an 0.00 earned-run average. He has not allowed an earned run at Riley Park in his last 37 1/3 innings pitched, and has a 1.66 ERA over his last 10 starts dating to last season.

Griffin, a junior from Gainesville, Fla., is the player of the month after batting .429 in February with four home runs and 12 runs batted-in.

For the season, Griffin is batting .404 with 16 RBI for the 7-5 Bulldogs, who are at Winthrop on Tuesday and begin SoCon play this weekend against visiting Samford.
