S.C. ethics forum to take place in Charleston on March 13
South Carolina ranks near the bottom when it comes to legislative ethics, and the Charleston Area League of Women Voters will hold a forum on March 13 to consider what can and should be done about that.

The Center for Public Integrity, a non-partisan, nonprofit group based in Washington, recently ranked South Carolina 45th in terms of legislative ethics.
And ethics reform has been one of the hot topics in this year’s legislative session, which comes in the wake of Lt. Gov. Ken Ard’s resignation and ethics questions dogging other state officials.
The forum will explore the issues of campaign finance, personal financial disclosure, conflict of interest and legislative advocacy.
It will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 13 at the Charleston County Main Library’s auditorium.
The event is free and open to the public.
