Charleston police charged a married couple and a third person in an armed robbery that happened outside a West Ashley restaurant Friday.
Michelle Head, 39, Glen Head, 40, and Marc Raymond Nelson, 35, all of 811 Castle Avenue, are charged with two counts of armed robbery, police spokesman Charles Francis said. Nelson faces an additional charge of first-degree assault and battery, he said.
Glen Head and Nelson are accused of robbing two people as they sat in their vehicle while leaving Outback Steakhouse at 1890 Sam Rittenberg Boulevard, Francis said.
The men, who were armed with a baseball bat, punched the vehicle’s passenger several times in the face, Francis said. The two men escaped in a vehicle driven by Michelle Head, he said.
A witness recognized two of the suspects and told police where to find them, Francis said.
Police arrested the three suspects shortly after the robbery as they arrived back at their Castle Avenue home.
Glen Head and Michelle Head are being held at the Charleston County pending a $400,000 bail, court records show. Nelson is being held pending a $500,000 bail, records show.
