SC father charged with neglect after 4 children under the age of 6 left in car
SPARTANBURG — Authorities say a South Carolina man is charged with neglect of a child after police officers found four children younger than the age of 6 alone in a car in a parking lot.
The Herald-Journal of Spartanburg reported that 24-year-old Xavier Wynn of Una is charged in the case. Investigators say someone called police after seeing four children inside a parked SUV.
The children range in age from 6 years old to 14 months old.
A report from the Spartanburg Public Safety Department said the children were crying. Authorities say it was 38 degrees outside Thursday.
One officer waited 40 minutes with the children until another found Wynn, who authorities say is the father of three of the children.
It wasn’t clear Sunday if Wynn has an attorney.
