Imagine a traditional yet expansive residence in an upscale neighborhood with big lot, garage, plenty of bedrooms — and no mortgage payment.
Moreover, someone else can take care of the yard and pests.
Those are some advantages of renting a house, in this case a two-level brick dwelling in the Ashborough subdivision of Summerville.
The residence, at 213 Hampton Ave., is available for $2,100 a month. “This is a beautiful home in a desirable neighborhood,” says Nataliya Matejka, property-manager-in-charge of F.O. Management LLC, which is handling the rental. The 2,200-square-foot home sports four bedrooms, two full baths and a powder room.
According to Matejka, the residence is freshly painted and has been “modernized” with such upgrades as granite countertops and tile and hardwood floors.
Also new, she says, are the roof; a heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit; and the front porch “to welcome you and your guests.”
A brand new side-by-side refrigerator is in the kitchen, which also shows off a glass-top stove and hood range microwave.
The newly remodeled home features large bedrooms and lots of storage space, Matejka says. “Shutters and plantations blinds allow for privacy in every room,” she says.
Another highlight is the home’s energy efficient design. The living room boasts a fireplace “for those cold winter days,” she says, adding that the wood-burning hearth helps lower the electric bill. For the summer months, the house employs an attic fan that “provides crisp clean air at the fraction of (the cost of an) air conditioner unit.”
The home’s large two-car garage comes with built-in storage shelves., while the ample yard includes a fenced-in back lawn. As an added bonus, the landlord provides professional landscaping weekly and pest control once a month.

The house is on the south side of Ashborough. Heading north and west, take Interstate 26 to exit 209B, which is Ashley Phosphate Road. Make a left on Ashley Phosphate and continue to Dorchester Road. Steer right on Dorchester and proceed about five miles. Turn left on Tabby Lane into Ashborough. Make a right on Mayfield Street, then a left on Hampton. Ahead is 213 Hampton Ave.
