Woman’s body found in Richland County woods fire
COLUMBIA — A woman’s body has been found in a woods fire in northeast Richland County.
Columbia-Richland firefighters found the burned body in the woods Thursday afternoon.
Coroner Gary Watt said an autopsy was planned Friday.
Officials don’t know if the woman was dead before the fire. They have not identified the body yet.
It took about four hours to extinguish the fire that burned about five acres.
