The mother and father of a Hanahan child who is in critical condition with a fractured skull did not seek treatment for a spiral fracture to the 5-month-old’s leg, an affidavit states.
Rachael Felicia Enciso, 30, of Murray Drive was charged with unlawful conduct toward a child on Thursday. She was being held at the Berkeley County jail pending a $20,000 bail set this morning.
Investigators say the additional fracture is consistent with the leg being twisted. The injury was not discovered until the child was transported to Medical University Hospital last week, an affidavit states.
The child’s father, Derek Stilson, 23, also of Murray Drive, is accused of throwing his son onto the living room floor when he didn’t stop crying.
Stilson was charged last week with infliction of great bodily injury to a child. He now faces an additional charge of unlawful conduct toward a child, and was granted $20,000 bail this morning.
