Conway man charged with death of Coastal Carolina student

A Conway man has surrendered to authorities in connection with the shooting death of a Coastal Carolina University student Tuesday evening,the State Law Enforcement Division reported Friday.

Marquis Spencer McDonald, 20, of Conway surrendered to SLED agents and the Coastal Carolina University Department of Public Safety, SLED said.

McDonald is charged in the death of Anthony Darnell Liddell, who was shot at University Place on the school’s campus.

A warrant was issued against McDonald for one count of murder, which is punishable by death or a minimum sentence of 30 years to life in prison. McDonald was also charged with one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
