Man charged in peninsula car break-in
A North Charleston man is accused of breaking into a car on Charleston’s Cooper Street on Jan. 6.
Donald Desmond Montez McFadden, 20, of Ferrara Drive, was arrested Tuesday and charged with breaking into a motor vehicle, Charleston police spokesman Charles Francis.
McFadden was being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
The incident occurred about 1 a.m. when someone forced down the rear passenger window of a vehicle and removed the stereo from the dashboard, Francis said.
Charleston Police were able to identify a suspect through forensic evidence recovered at the scene, Francis said.
