The committee shepherding the massive makeover of Charleston International Airport’s aging terminal building will meet at 10 a.m. today at the airport for a project status report.

The Terminal Redevelopment Project, or TRIP, committee is chaired by Hernan Pena with the city of Charleston and includes airport board members Pat Waters, Spencer Pryor, Larry Richter, North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey and non-board members Mary Graham with Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce and Ron Mitchum with the Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments.

The airport is about to undergo a $200 million renovation that includes adding six gates, a new baggage carousel, a new rental car pavilion, centralized security checkpoints, a dome over the atrium and other major cosmetic changes.

The completion date will probably be in 2015.
