A Mount Pleasant-based company that provides personnel services for the trucking industry has come under new ownership and management after investors bought into the business.

PeopLease Corp.’s new president and CEO is transportation veteran Mitch Poole.

Founders D.W. Speer and Chuck Schellenger remain with the company and will focus on customer development and acquisitions.

Terms of the investment were not disclosed.

“We will be investing in new tools to assist in driving sales and enhancing customer acquisition and retention,” the new ownership group said in a written statement.

Poole said the company will remain headquartered on Wingo Way, and that the ownership change will be transparent to customers.

PeopLease was founded in 1994 and has a national client base. It provides payroll and other human resources administrative services for trucking firms in 38 states with a combined 11,000 employees.
