Wettest February on record sops Charleston
The drenching since Thursday drove the month from the fourth-wettest February here to the wettest since record-keeping started in 1938.
The good news? It looks like that’s it for now.
“The rest of the month looks dry at this point,” said meteorologist Julie Packett, of the National Weather Service, Charleston. The official rain gauge is at Charleston International Airport, where nearly 5 inches of rain fell in four days.
Downtown has been nearly as wet.
