Suspect arrested in fatal shooting on Saratoga Road

Provided North Charleston police charged Terry Lance, 23, of Houston Street, in connection with a fatal shooting on Saratoga Road.

North Charleston police on Friday arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with a fatal shooting that happened Thursday on Saratoga Road.

Police identified Terrance Lance, of Houston Street, as a suspect in the shooting death of Rodriquez E. Henderson, 19, of North Charleston, police spokesman Spencer Pryor said. Lance is charged with murder, jail records show.

Officers on Thursday responded to the 2700 block of Saratoga Road after reports of shots fired, Pryor said. Henderson was found wounded at the scene. He was transported to Medical University Hospital where he later died, he said.

Lance surrendered to police shortly before midnight, Pryor said.

Police believe that the shooting stemmed from a previous fight between Lance and Henderson, Pryor said.

Lance is being held at the Charleston County jail. A bond hearing is scheduled for 7 p.m. today, Pryor said.
