North Charleston police are investigating a fatal shooting on Dorchester Road overnight.

Two men were shot by an unknown gunman as they left Charley O’s club shortly before 2:30 a.m., police spokesman Spencer Pryor said. One man died; the other was wounded, police said.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not identified the slain man, but family members said he is Miquel Snipe, 22, of Admiral Drive in North Charleston.

Someone inside a black GMC Yukon fired at the men as they walked to their vehicle, which Pryor said was parked at a CK Supply parking lot, 4311 Dorchester Road.

One of the men died in the shooting, Pryor said. The other was shot in the right arm and refused medical treatment, he said.

A fight took place earlier in the night at a different location, Pryor said.

Authorities are searching for the shooter, described as a black man between 5 feet, 10 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with dreads, wearing blue jeans, a black shirt and a red hat, Pryor said.
