Pedestrian dies after being hit by car in North Charleston
A pedestrian who stepped in front of a car in North Charleston this afternoon has died.
He was Samuel Grant, 62, of North Charleston, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
Grant was hit at Ashley Phosphate and Stall Roads shortly before 5 p.m. He stepped off the curb and walked in front of a 2011 Nissan, according to police spokesman Spencer Pryor. He later died at Medical University Hospital.
No charges against the driver are expected, Pryor said.
