Bailey Rush keys comeback as Citadel baseball tops Winthrop, 6-4

The Citadel scored two runs in the eighth inning to rally for a 6-4 victory over Winthrop in college baseball tonight at Riley Park.
Drew DeKerlegand was hit by a pitch and Bailey Rush doubled, and both runners scored on a throwing error for the Bulldogs’ go-ahead runs. Skylar Hunter struck out two with runners at second and third in the ninth for his first save.
Joe Jackson drove in two runs and Bo Thompson and Hughston Armstrong one each for the 3-1 Bulldogs. David Riveria (1-0) got the win with one inning of perfect relief.
The Citadel begins a three-game series at North Florida on Friday.
