The man who robbed a North Charleston bank this afternoon looks a lot like a man who held up a Summerville bank last month.
A man walked into the Regions Bank at 2210 Ashley Phosphate Road about 2:30 p.m. today and gave a teller a note demanding money, according to North Charleston police. The man did not show a weapon.
The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen leaving the area on foot.
The man’s actions were recorded on the bank’s surveillance camera. He is described as 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, with hazel eyes and a light goatee, wearing a tan baseball cap, gray long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
The man looks very similar to the person who held up the First Citizens Bank branch at 1319 North Main St. in Summerville around 2:50 p.m. Jan. 26. That man also demanded money without displaying any weapon.
Based on the surveillance images, it’s likely the same man held up both banks, Summerville Police Cap. Jon Rogers said.
