The Charleston man who police say tossed a gun as he ran from an officer holding his driver’s license has been arrested.
Police put out a notice Sunday that they were looking for Jamal Rashard Rollerson, 20, whose last known address was on Grove Street, on charges of possession of a handgun with an obliterated serial number and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Rollerson surrendered himself at police headquarters today and was booked into the Charleston County jail.
Rollerson took off running when an officer was questioning why he was hanging around Athens Court Friday night, according to the incident report. He left his driver’s license with an officer and dropped a loaded Ruger as he ran, according to police.
