Symposium
What: Patriots Point’s Institute of History, Science and Technology presents “Jenkins, Jazz and Jammin’ in Times of War and Peace.” The symposium focuses on Jenkins Orphanage Band, which started in Charleston in the late 1800s.

‘From Slavery to Freedom’
What: A tour of cabins, which have been renovated to represent different eras of the African-American experience, from slavery to the Civil Rights Movement. Activities will include craft demonstrations, storytellers, children’s activities, live music and a special walk through the African-American cemetery.
When: 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
